    The house where the famous Cracovian restaurant Wentzl is located was built in 1635 by very rich townspeople - Cellarich. This is one of the biggest tenements at the Market Square. This house was rebuilt couple of times - in 1718, later to a large extent in 1937 according to the project of the architect Mączyński and this state we can admire today.
    The tenement was lately renovated in middle 90’s - thanks to that its bright facade is magnificently exposed in Market Square. Tradition of the restaurant in this place dates back to 1792 when Jan Wentzl moved his gastronomy from close Krzysztofory to this tenement. Later his son Konrad Wentzl and his descendants ran this restaurant till the day when for a while it became archduke’s brewery in Żywiec property. Today it is very elegant restaurant.and even many people recogize it is the best restaurant in the city.

Old suits of armour adorn the historic walls of the Knight’s Room, ornamental frescos captivate Guests of the two Pompeian Rooms and modern, surreal paintings by Rafal Olbinski and Tomasz Setowski contrast with the ancient clocks and tile stoves of the Clock Room and the Chamber of Imagination .

    It is brand new restaurant, located in the The Old Town. It possesses a style of Polish refined but familiar folklore, which is noticeable from enter. There are rustical wreathes on the walls: truly weaved and hand-painted on the sunny walls, dried and fresh bunches of flowers, herbs, bunches of flax, different cereals and Polish catkins.
