group programme - In the footsteps of Frederic Chopin
Day 1 WARSAW
Arrival to Warsaw’s Airport Okecie. Transfer to the Hotel, check in and free time for relax after the flight. Transfer for Chopin`s piano concert in one of Warsaw`s magnificent palaces, organized especially for your group where can delight the famous Chopin’s mazurkas and polonaises played by well-known Polish pianists. During the concert a glass of Polish sparkling wine will be served to all guests. Welcome dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 2 WARSAW
Breakfast. Guided city sightseeing tour of Warsaw in Chopin`s footsteps. Begin with the Old Town and its highlights as : the Market Square, the Royal Castle, St. John`s Cathedral and Barbican. Then walk along the Royal Route to reach the Parlour - apartment where F. Chopin was lived before he had left the country. The parlour is equipped with furniture from the Chopin`s epoqh: an Erard piano which owned by the famous pianist and composer Franz Liszt, some glass and porcelain pieces, portraits of Chopin`s parents and cousins, and engravings presenting Warsaw from the first decades of the 19th c.. Next stop is the Holy Cross Church with the urn containing the heart of Chopin. Afterwards drive to the Royal Park in Lazienki where stands the famous monument dedicated to the composer. In the afternoon visit to the Ostrogski Palace, the seat of Chopin Society and Chopin Museum. Dinner in famous Restaurant Honoratka with traditional Polish cuisine which has been often visited by the composer. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 3 WARSAW – ZELAZOWA WOLA
After breakfast, excursion the birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin, a small manor house in Zelazowa Wola, ca. 50 km west of Warsaw. Chopin spent only the first seven months of his life there, but the place is worth visiting - this typical old Polish country manor house has a cosy museum and a lovely park. It presents personal belongings, documents, manuscripts, numerous paitings, sculptures, engravings of Chopin`s life and his close family. All exhibits are gathered and systematized in order to illustrate successive phases of Chopin`s life, starting from the period between 1810 and 1830 in Poland, and then abroad, until his death in 1849. On the way the group will have an opportunity to enjoy the scenery of the Masovian countryside and stop in Brochow - its 16th century imposing Parish church where the composer’s was baptised and also the wedding ceremony of his parents happened in 1806.
Return to Warsaw and free time for shopping. Farewell dinner by the folklore show and overnight stay.
Day 4 WARSAW
Breakfast After check out, departure to the Airport Okecie.
